Who Is The Church?

If you've received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are part of the church, which is a representation of His body on earth.  The church is not a building of mortar, brick, stone, wood or metal, but people who are His children.

We are sheep, Christ is the shepherd.  John 10:11

(leadership, protection, our dependency)

We are the branches, He is the vine.  John 15:5

(His sustaining strength for growth)

We are priests, He is the High Priests.  I Peter 2:9-10

(worship, fellowship, service to Him)

We are building stones, He is the cornerstone.  I Peter 2:4-8

(Jesus is the foundation for what the church is and does - love is the mortar)

We are the body, He is the head.  I Corinthians 12:12

(vibrant organism, not an organization, each believer supplies a unique and necessary part)

We are the new creation, He is the last Adam.  I Corinthians 15:22,  II Corinthians 5:17

(Jesus initiated the church)

We are the bride, He is the bridegroom.  Ephesians 5:25-33, Revelation 21:9

(intimate fellowship)
